Retired Major General Biraaro Buta Buto, the Presidential candidate of the Farmers Party of Uganda has attributed the biting poverty in the country on rampant corruption amongst government officials.

 
According to Biraaro, many Ugandans are living below the poverty line not because of the poor economy, but because of the cancer of corruption.

 
Biraaro told voters in Mbale this afternoon during his campaign rally that once elected into office; he will establish schools to fight corruption.

He also promised to establish an airport in Mbale to ease transport given the unique geographical location of the town.
