However, hundreds of anti-riot policemen, traffic officers and security operatives armed with teargas canisters and other ammunition are deployed in Nakasongola and Kakooge councils to thwart any activities that could disrupt the tour.
Earlier the Buruuli community had announced plans to disrupt the tour in retaliation for Buganda's failure to honor and officially inform Isabaruuli Mwogezi Butamanya, the cultural leader of Buruuli about the visit. They described the visit as provocation and antagonism.
Tension remains high in Nakasongola town, Nabiswera and Lwabyata Sub County headquarters where Isabaruuli commands a lot of respect.
But Savannah Regional Police Commander Musa Nabende says the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga will receive maximum protection to tour the area.

But coordinators of Buruuli chiefdom youths locally known as "Abajwaka" lead by John Sekagigo and Peter Kafeero have vowed to take on police in protest of disrespect of Isabaruuli and their culture.

Yesterday, More than 50 elders and clan leaders of Buruuli chiefdom besieged the office of Nakasongola Resident District Commissioner in protest of the visit.
The angry officials led by George Ongom, the chairperson of Buruuli Chiefdom Steering committee marched to the district headquarters and stormed the office of RDC demanding for his immediate action to stop the visit of Katikkiro Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga.
However the protests didn't yield anything.
