The car washers have set up different washing bays and project on the five acre piece of land to the chagrin of Christians.

On Sunday last week, a group of concerned Christians led by Arthur Musulube petitioned Bugembe town council to evict the car washers from the church land.

The Christians argued that, in addition to setting up illegally washing bays on the church land, the presence of the car washers was promoting promiscuous behavior in the precincts of the church.

Reverend Paul Naimanhi, the Dean of Bugembe Cathedral says the car washers take advantages of the tree shades to engage in promiscuous behavior. He says the cathedral will follow up the matter with Busoga diocese.
