This morning heavy gunfire rocked Bundibugyo town lasting up to 30 minutes. It's reported that unknown people threatened to attack Bundibugyo police station, but were repulsed by a combined effort of the UPDF and police. Three of the attackers have been arrested.
Pius Mujuzi, the Resident District Commissioner of Bundibugyo has been shot in fresh clashes in the district.
Bakari Mugah, the Rwenzori region police spokesperson told Uganda Radio network that Mujuzi was shot in the leg although under unclear circumstances. Reports indicate that Mujuzi has been rushed to a secret location for treatment.
Tensions remain high, the town deserted and all offices closed after a wave of attacks on security installations in Bundibugyo, Kasese and Ntoroko Districts on Saturday.

It has also been reported that Mujuzi could have been shot during the attack, since his office is a few meters away from the police station.
Up to 72 people have been reported dead since the attacks were launched. Police spokesman Fred Enanga says 22 guns have been stolen by the attackers, while up to 80 people have been arrested.
