Omukama Asks Local Governments to Provide Safe Drinking Water to Subjects

The Omukama of Bunyoro Kingdom, Solomon Gafabusa Iguru has implored local governments under his territory to ensure proper safe water coverage.
 
 
Speaking at the thanksgiving ceremony for the Hoima LC V chairperson, Kadiri Kirungi on Friday, the Omukama, said much as government has tried it's best to provide safe water in the region; the coverage isn't satisfactory.
 
 
Most of the communities in Hoima district rely on borehole water. The district has since resolved to tender them for proper management. 



Speaking at the same function, the Archbishop of Church of Uganda, Stanley Ntagali encouraged the local government leaders to unite all the tribes in the region if development is to be realized.

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Ramadhan Mubaje, implored parents to bring up their children as God fearing individuals to defeat the western invasion into the local culture and faith.
 
 
He said it is the responsibility of every Ugandan to fight against comprehensive sex education, which he says seeks to erode morals and values in the next generation.

In his speech, Kadiri Kirungi, the Hoima LC5 chairperson said he has already started fighting tribalism, which had started cropping up in the district.
 
He promised to cause dialogue at different levels to ensure that the entire citizenry of Hoima district is united irrespective of the different tribes that live there.
 
 
The event was cut short by a heavy down pour prompting the guests to live without the cutting the cake, which had been designed in the National Resistance Movement party colors.
