Busoga University Gets New Chancellor

Dr. Michael Kyomya, the outgoing Bishop of Busoga diocese has relinquished his position as chancellor Busoga University.

Naimanhe is scheduled to be consecrated Bishop in January 2016. While receiving the new chancellor, Associate Professor David Kibikyo, the Busoga University Vice chancellor commended Dr. Michael Kyomya for his unwavering efforts to build the University.
 
 
He said Dr. Kyomya has helped improve the academic standards and infrastructure at the university that has made it possible to attract students and academic staff from East and Central Africa. Dr. Michael Kyomya is the founding chancellor of Busoga University, which was established in 1999.
 

In his acceptance speech, Naimanhe pledged to give special attention to activities of the University. He requested the University leadership to be transparent and accountable in all their actions.

Naimanhe holds a Bachelors of Divinity Degree from Uganda Christian University Mukono, a Provincial Certificate in Theological Studies from Uganda Martyrs Seminary, Namugongo and Diploma in Business Administration.



 
He was born on December 24th 1960 to Tolophaine and Yokosani Naimanhe at Kasambira, Bugulumbya Sub County in Kamuli District.  He was ordained deacon in 1987.  He then served as a vicar at Nawanyago, St James-Jinja, St Peter's Wairaka and Christ's cathedral Bugembe until 2009 when he was appointed the sub dean. 



He became a full Dean on January 23, 2011 and was ordained Canon in May 2015.
