Caritas international, a catholic charitable organization, has donated more than 347.6m shillings in support of agricultural projects in Kitgum and Pader districts. The money was channelled through the Emergency Support to Farming Households in Decongested Camps, a one year pilot project sponsored by CAFORD, a sister organisation to CARITAS. The project coordinator, Charles Okello Owiny, says the money will be used to purchase oxen, ox-plough, seeds trials and multiplication, and extension services. Owiny says the agricultural projects would benefit about 800 households in Madi Kiloc, Palabek Ogili, Bolo and Acuru IDP camps.
