Besigye Leading In Kampala Central

Kampala Central Division has traditionally been an opposition stronghold but what is emerging from the provisional  results issued by the Electoral Commission indicate that candidate Yoweri Museveni is gaining ground.

According to provisional results released by the Electoral Commission on its website, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye beat Museveni by 364 votes.

Provisional results for Kampala Central Division indicate that Dr. Kizza Besigye got 1,628 votes, Yoweri Museveni 1,264 votes, Amama Mbabazi 64 votes, Abed Bwanika 32 votes, Benon Biraaro 15 votes, Maureen Kyalya 8 votes, Venansius Baryamureeba 4 votes and Joseph Mabirizi received no vote.

However, results from the other constituencies within Kampala District like Kawempe North, South, Makindye East, West, Rubaga North, South and Nakawa division are currently not yet in.
