The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold the draw for the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Libreville, Gabon tonight.

Uganda who qualified for the event after 39 years of waiting will also get to know their respective opponents, but will in the first stage avoid the likes of Zimbabwe, Togo and Guinea Bissau who are in the same Pot 4.

"There is no team that is weak in this competition and we can only plan accordingly after the draws are made," Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic told URN from Libreville last night.

According to CAF Group A will be based in the Gabonese capital, Libreville, Group B in Franceville, Group C in Oyem and Port Gentil will host teams in Group D. The opening and final matches will be held at the Stade de l'AmitiƩ in Libreville, while the Stade de Port-Gentil will host the third place match. The quarter-finals will be played in each of the four venues with the semis taking place in Libreville and Franceville.

Cote d'Ivoire are the defending champions after stopping Ghana in the final of the 2015 Afcon in Equatorial Guinea. The defending champions are placed in Pot 1 for the draws together with Ghana, Algeria and hosts Gabon.

Pot 2 has Tunisia, Mali, Burkina Faso and DR Congo, while Pot 3 has Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco and Egypt.
