Trouble for Odongo started on Monday this week during a meeting for the District Works and Technical committee members in the Engineering Boardroom. In her statement, Atto claims that while opening the meeting, Odongo attacked her verbally accusing her of using radio stations in Lango to accuse him of maladministration and incompetence.

Atto says she was infuriated by Odongo's verbal attacks and decided to storm out of the meeting. She however, says she returned minutes later to pick a document she had forgotten on the table and met with Odongo who was also moving out of the boardroom. According to Atto, Odongo pounced on her and threw her on the ground before he started assaulting her.

She raised an alarm, which attracted participants in the meeting to run to her rescue.  She was rushed to Dokolo health center IV where she was admitted for two days before discharged o Wednesday.  Atto opened a case of Assault against Odongo at Dokolo Central Police Station under CRB 41/22/05/2017.

However, Odongo denies any wrong doing, saying the accusations are only meant to destroy his political career. Amis Kayodo Lukanga, the Dokolo District Police Commander, says Odongo will be arraigned in court for trial once the witnesses pin him for assaulting the councilor.
