The two names that were sent to the House of Bishops were Rev. Simon Omoding, the Lecturer Uganda Christian University, Mbale Campus and Rev. Simon Ongangu, Kumi diocesan Treasurer.

According to Ongeng, Kumi Diocese will send another name to replace Omoding.
Rt. Rev. Thomas Irigei, the first Bishop of Kumi Diocese will retire in December.
Kumi Diocese Comprises of three districts namely Kumi, Ngora and Bukedea. It was carved out from Soroti Diocese in 2001.
On Wednesday, the House of Bishops elected Dr Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu as the Archbishop Church of Uganda.
Julius Ceaser Nina was also elected the 2nd Bishop of West Lango Diocese.
