European Gangs Targetting Young Ugandan Footballers

Trevor Dudley the Country Director of the popular youth league, Kampala Kids League, has said a gang operating in some European countries is actively luring young footballers to migrate from Uganda illegally. Dudley was speaking in response to concerns by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on the number of child footballers who do not return to Uganda after international engagements. The Kampala Kids League has had immense success both at home and abroad, winning a number of international tournaments including the prestigious Gothia Cup. Dudley said the Kampala Kids League was embarrassed in the past when some team members disappeared from trading camps abroad in an attempt to seek asylum.
