Alfred Onen Kamdulu, the former Director of Operations in the rebel Lord's Resistance Army-LRA is to spend more days on remand at Gulu Central Prison. Kamdulu appeared this morning before the Gulu Grade One magistrate, Selse Biwaga for the mention of his defilement case.

Onen is facing charges of aggravated defilement for, which he was arrested in January this year. Prosecution led by the Gulu Resident State Attorney, Stephen Ojara alleges that Onen defiled a five- year - old girl in Layibi A and B sub ward in Layibi Division in Gulu Municipality on January 10th.

The offense contravenes Section 129 clauses 4(a) and (c) of the Penal Code Act that states that "any person who unlawfully has sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of eighteen years commits an offense and is liable to suffer death". Prosecution told court this morning that investigations into the matter are ongoing under CRB 74/2017.

As a result, the Gulu Grade One magistrate, Selse Biwaga further remanded  the suspect to February 20th when the matter will come up for mention. In 2007, Onen was convicted to nine years in jail for aggravated robbery.
