The delegates protested statements from the former Forum for Democratic Change secretary for defense, Salim Angoliga that party presidential flag bearer, Dr. Kizza Besigye is self-centred.

Forum for Democratic Change party delegates in Arua on Friday threw out former party secretary for defense, Salim Angoliga from a meeting he convened.

Angualiga had made announcements calling FDC delegates in the district for a meeting on Friday.

In his opening remarks, Angoliga started by criticizing the FDC presidential flag bearer, Dr. Kizza Besigye. He said he had worked with Besigye for 15 years and he knew his weaknesses, including being self-centred.

This angered the delegates, who immediately started openly opposing him.

Sensing danger, Angoliga left the meeting room. The angry delegates followed him out and pestered him on his intentions. It took the intervention of Arua district Police Commander, Jonathan Musinguzi to rescue Angoliga.

He entered a nearby vehicle and was whisked away.

Arua FDC chairman, Hamza Manzu says Angoliga did not respect the party by calling for the meeting without their knowledge and talking ill of Dr. Besigye.

Cue out:…we should all quit."//

Musinguzi told URN that Angoliga had his freedom of speech and opinion.

Angoliga last week announced he will not support Dr. Kizza Besigye in the 2016 elections, accusing him of being self-centred.
