Although she is passionate about her discipline, Apolot nearly never entered the kick boxing ring. The 24 year old was more interested in football, athletics, boxing, and tea-kwondo until she caught now famous Ugandan kick boxer Moses Gololas eye in the gym.
On Friday, Apolot will be facing off with Jackie Nasimbwa.
Apolot already holds the Ugandan kick boxing title in her division but she refuses to consider herself a champion until she defends her crown.
Apolot beat Nasimbwa November 17, 2013 to take the title. Beating her in the rematch will be confirmation for Apolot that her win was no fluke.
Although she is passionate about her discipline, Apolot nearly never entered the kick boxing ring.
The 24 year old was more interested in football, athletics, boxing, and tea-kwondo until she caught now famous Ugandan kick boxer Moses Golola's eye in the gym.
Apolot says Golola coaxed her to try out kick boxing. He was so convinced she had talent that he let her open for his 2009 match against Andras Nagy.
Before the biggest crowd in her short career, Apolot was beaten by Brenda Masendi. Such a loss would have demotivated many a sportsperson, not Apolot who took the defeat as a challenge to be better than all the competition.
Already facing prejudice for concentrating in what is thought to be a male discipline, Apolot wanted to prove a woman can succeed anywhere.

Cue out:.....fight that night'//
Apolot says this determination is something cultivated in the trials of her childhood. Born to Mukulla Emanuel and Allupo Winfred, she ended up being raised by a doting but strict grandmother Acholla Philomena. A grandmother who inculcated in her the realisation the world will not give you anything for free, you have to fight for it. Acholla presently resides in Ngora district and proudly follows her granddaughter's progress.
Apolot started out her education in Ngora, attending St Aloysius Demonstration School. She then attended Ngora High School. All through, Apolot stood out for her sporting prowess actively participating in athletics, javelin, shot put, and football. Apolot was also a singer and model in school.
She actually remains a model signed to Mambo Entertainment. Through Mambo Entertainment Apolot is an aerobics teacher. One of her courses is monkeynastix which promotes physical fitness among young children 1-8 years old.
A Friday win could help Apolot go international as she already has a manager Istvan Rozman looking outward for more opportunities. Istvan Rozman managed Andras Nagy.
