The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has confirmed that the FIFA Com Unity Seminar will take place February 27 at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

FIFA Development Officer Assistant in-Charge of administration and events, Kelebogile Mosimanewapula left Uganda yesterday after finalizing arrangements for the Seminar.

The seminar will bring together the host member association, the government, potential sponsors and members of the media among other sectors. Kelebogile said the arrangement was to assist FUFA in launching specific projects for women football where long term financial support was also needed.

The seminar is also aimed at promoting women’s football and attracting investment or interest in the game from other sectors of the community outside the football family. It also aimed at promoting partnership between the football family and the government.

Edgar Watson, the FUFA Chief Executive Officer told Uganda Radio Network that the seminar is timely and that close to 120 participants are expected including a few selected Members of Parliament. The State Minister for Sports, Charles Bakabulindi will officially open the seminar.

The topics to be covered will include women football strategy and development, grass root football development programs, impact of women football on social and educational development programs, and the role of the media in women football development. Others are communication strategy towards women football development and benefits for sponsors of women football among many others.
