FIFA Officials Arrive Today To Conduct Clubs' Workshop

The World Football governing body, FIFA is sending two members who arrive this evening to conduct a two day workshop for the FUFA Super League complaint clubs starting tomorrow at Golf Course Hotel.

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) is sending two members, who arrive this evening, to conduct a two day workshop for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Super League complaint clubs starting tomorrow at Golf Course Hotel.

Experienced football consultant Thomas Grimm, a FIFA consultant and specialist in leagues and clubs management, will lead the team which will also include Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) President and CAF member Leodegar Tenga.

According to the FUFA spokesman Rogers Mulindwa, Grimm is a former President of the Swiss Football League (SFL) and a lawyer by profession. FIFA has for so many years been assigning him duties to sensitive countries to take stock of the state of football there. He has been to Palestine, Zambia, Syria, Lebanon and Myanmar among others. Mulindwa confirmed he will be in the country this Tuesday evening by Brussels Airlines.

The workshop will handle matters to do with League/Club effective management. Mulindwa said only clubs that have complied with the new FUFA Super League statutes have been invited. These include; Bidco, Proline, Police, URA, Vipers, Entebbe Young, Kira Young, Express, Victoria University, Water, Victors and Masaka LC. The three clubs that have not complied include SC. Villa, Maroons and Simba.

Each Club will be represented by its chairperson and two other officials in decision making positions who will also be managing the club administration on a day-to-day basis. FUFA Super League board members are also expected to attend the workshop.
