Fire has gutted Kyenjojo Radio Station in Kyenjojo town council. The fire, which broke out at 12:30 pm, razed both the main and production studios.

Isaac Kagezi, the Assistant Manager Kyenjojo FM, says the fire started from a short circuit. He explains that the two presenters who were on air suddenly saw smoke from the studio.

According to Kagezi, it was too late to save any of the equipment including consoles, microphones, stabilizers, television sets, computers and furniture.

The radio is now off air. Police officers at Kyenjojo Police Station, which is opposite the radio station just looked on since they lack firefighting equipment.

Traders with shops next to the radio station managed to save their merchandise. Kyenjojo FM belongs to Aston Kajara, the Mwenge South Member of Parliament.
