Last week, a city businessman James Luviima issued an ultimatum of eight months to residents of Kabulangiti and Kiwuula villages located in Sembabule town council to either buy off their occupancy or face eviction.

During a meeting held on Tuesday at Kiyoola village, residents informed Mathias Kintu Musoke, the current Sembabule RDC that his predecessor Baguma was involved in the land dispute.

Phoebe Keishanyu, one of the residents accused Baguma, of allegedly shielding Luviima to the extent of granting him permission to open-up boundaries on the disputed land without any documents.

Keishanyu noted that the cooperation between Baguma and the current land claimant left the occupants so vulnerable to claim for the rights on the land even when many of them are bonfide occupants.
