A four year-old boy from Kyakadehe village in Pacwa subcounty, Kagadi district has died after being stung by bees.

Robert Byonabyange, the father of the deceased says the boy only identified as Alinaitwe died when he followed older children to fetch firewood from a nearby bush on Sunday evening.

Byonabyange says that the children found the bees in a log which they tempered with. The children managed to escape unhurt leaving the young boy helpless.

The children reported to the parents who came and rescued Alinaitwe from the bees but he died last night at St. Ambrose Hospital in Kagadi town.

Uganda Radio Network could not reach the management of the hospital for a comment.

Francis Soke, the officer in charge of Pacwa police post says no one has reported the case to the post for investigation.

Byonabyange denied having prior knowledge of the bees colonising the log.

Alinaitwe's remains will be laid to rest at their home in Kyakadehe village this afternoon.
