The two teams that finished fifth in their respective groups will face-off to determine the 9-10th positions. South Africa will also face Guinea to determine the 11-12th positions.


Handled by Timothy Odeke, The Gazelles only managed a win over South Africa in the group stage and lost to Gabon, Mozambique, Mali and hosts Cameroon. Odeke told URN on Tuesday evening that he is happy that his players have had chance to play several games and get the exposure.


After missing the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville because the government did not have enough money to fund a bigger contingent, the Gazelles were rescued by President Yoweri Museveni who facilitated their travel to Cameroon.


On Thursday the 2015 All Africa Games gold medal winners Mali will face Senegal in one of the quarter final ties, while Egypt who caused a major upset beating Angola in the group game will take on hosts Cameroon.


The other quarter final games will see Gabon face Angola, while Nigerian take on Mozambique. The beat team will qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games ti take place in Brazil.
