The threat by government to close any school that opens before the end of the third term holiday, is affecting operations of International Schools. International schools follow a different calendar. Margaret Bell, the director of Aghakhan Schools says that they opened for the first term on Monday January 11th. She however that as a result of the government warning, many parents have not returned their children to school. According to Margaret all International schools were cleared by the ministry of Education to start their new term. // Cue in: iWe received a letter #### Cue out: #####.throughout the year. // Margaret says that both students in the primary and secondary section are affected. Fatia Balidawa, a parent of two pupils at Agakhan International School says that her children missed lessons for the first two days. Balidawa says that she wasn't aware that international schools have a different educational calendar. She says that as a result she had prepaid money to pay for her children thinking that the first term will start in February. Aggrey Kibenge, the public relations officer ministry of education and sports says international schools operate a different calendar.
