Police have re-arrested Muto Opio, Gulu's most wanted gangster. Opio was picked up on Tuesday evening following his escape from custody at Gulu Central Police Station on April 24th.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, says Opio was nabbed in Gulu town during a night operation. He told URN that the suspect was due to appear in court because his file was ready.

He says they have preferred fresh charges including theft, burglary, and escape from lawful custody against the suspect. Opio was initially being held for illegal possession of a firearm registration number POL 13279873-106944.

Police slapped him with the charges after he was caught with the firearm on April 18th, 2017 with two rounds of ammunition. He however, escaped from custody and staged a daring robbery at a shop in the heart of Gulu town and made off with Shillings 10 million.
