Gunmen Destroy Residents' Homes

More than 36 households in Oyobi parish in Lakang village in Amuru Town Council in Amuru district are homeless after their huts were destroyed by unidentified gunmen.

According to Okello, although no one was killed, residents who tried to resist the attack sustained minor injuries. He claims that the attackers who were dressed in the uniforms of Uganda Wildlife Authority-UWA asked the residents to quick, saying the area belongs to the game reserve.
 

Okello says this is the fourth time the residents are coming under attack. There are over 1000 households in the disputed area, according to Okello. The affected parishes include Cam Got, Cam Nam, Ologi A and Ologi B, which borders Amuru district and West Nile. 

The Amuru Resident District Commissioner, Bilak Jalmoro, says he has dispatched a team to establish what happened.
