Gunfire rocked St Leo's College in Kyegobe in Kabarole district on Wednesday night as Police dispersed students.

They accused the head teacher of refusing to hire outsiders to play for the school team during the district volleyball championship.

However, a source at the school told URN on condition of anonymity that the students rampaged when they received rumors they were to be disqualified for using mercenaries.
 
  
"They heard that they are to be disqualified from the competitions and the trophy they won to be given to Nyakasura School who were the runner-up. The students could not accept the decision and decided to attack the headmaster," said the source.
 
 
The Kabarole District Police Commander, Musa Tibakirana has connected yet commented as he neither picked nor returned repeated calls from our reporter to his telephone. By the time of filing this story there was calm at the school.
