In short
Vicent Alpha Opio, the LC5 Councilor for Kabwoya sub-county told URN that now councilors and other government officials can access the flash toilets following their renovation

Hoima district local government has renovated the dilapidated toilets at the district headquarters.

Since 2016, the two flush toilets have not been functional after they were blocked due to poor usage and lack of water. District officials had resorted to utilising the abandoned pit latrine located a few metres from the office block or in Hoima town.

The toilets are now operational after they were renovated. Water has also been installed inside the toilets.
However it is not clear how much money was used to repair the facilities, since the district Engineer could not respond to our repeated phone calls.

Vincent Alpha Opio, the LC5 Councillor for Kabwoya sub-county says that the district staff will not face difficulties answering nature's call because the sanitary facilities have been renovated.

Opio however wonders why the district had failed to repair the facilities yet they are crucial for daily use by the officials. He says such a mistake should not happen again.
