40 pupils from different schools in the district and other game officials were by Tuesday Afternoon still stranded at Hoima Public School due to lack of transport.

Haruna Alinde, the Hoima Municipal sports officer, says the only remaining option is to send the selected pupils back to their parents since they could no longer afford looking after them.

A source in the town clerk's office who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak reveals that the town clerk together with other council members from the municipality are in Soroti attending the USMID workshop.

The source further revealed that the town clerk did not authorize anyone in his office to release the funds. The source adds that the town clerk has adamantly refused to respond to phone calls from other municipal officials over the matter.

When contacted by Uganda Radio Network, the town clerk declined to respond to our repeated phone calls.

Godfrey Kasozi, the team Coach says though the team is ready to travel, they are currently demoralized adding that it is too late for them to travel to Kaberamaido and join their counterparts.

He says the reporting date for all teams participating in the National ball game championship was supposed to be Monday.
