Mohamed Mugolofa alias Kalogoyi, a prominent businessman in Iganga Municipality has butchered his girlfriend before taking his own life. Mugolofa is said to have killed his girlfriend Agnes Nakadama on Tuesday night in her two bedroomed apartment in Nkatu Zone in Iganga Municipality on grounds that she was seeing another businessman only identified as Karim.

Nakadama's naked body was found this morning in her apartment with deep cuts on the head, stomach and legs.  Sande Balikowa, a close neighbor to Nakadama says Mugolofa arrived at her home at around 8.30pm on Tuesday night and went straight into the house and didn't speak to anybody like the case has been.
Balikowa says they became suspicious that something was wrong when the couple failed to come out of the house by 8am. He says one of the neighbor peeped in the house only to see Mugolofa's body hanging on a rope. They forced their way into the house and found Nakadama's lifeless body lying in a pool of blood.
Police suspect that Mugolofa could have killed Nakadama before ending his life for fear of being prosecuted. Mugolofa is reported to have spent huge sums of money paying tuition for Nakadama right from ordinary level to university, where she completed her bachelors of education degree two years back.

Vincent Mwesigye, the Iganga District Police Commander says investigations are underway to establish the exact cause of the murders. Mugolofa has been the proprietor of a string of wholesale shops and plots of lands in Iganga and Jinja districts. He was also involved in a feud with Muslims over the ownership of a storied building on plot 41 along the main highway in Iganga municipality.

Mugolofa filed a case in Iganga High court accusing a section of Muslims of attempting to grab the storied building he inherited from his late father. His elder son Hassan Mugolofa is serving a life sentence for murdering a 22-year-old man he accused of being involved in a sexual relationship with his girlfriend. By the time of filing this story, police had handed over the body to Iganga main hospital for postmortem.
