Assistant inspector General of Police Fred Yiga is the new Director of Chief Political Commisariate in the Uganda Police force, following changes made in the assignments of some officers. Yiga replaces Asuman Mugenyi.

As chief Political Commisariate, AIGP Yiga Fred is tasked to ensure a culture of professionalism takes root among all personnel in the force, and to fight indiscipline among others.

AIGP Asuman Mugyenyi has been appointed the Director of Operations to focus on the transformation of the traditional policing structure into the Community Policing model starting with Kampala Metropolitan Police. He is charged with integrating all operational units of the police Force such as Police stations and posts among other duties.

A statement issued by Deputy Police spokesperson Polly Namaye says the transfers, which were signed by Police Chief Gen Kale Kayihura are aimed at ensuring that the rectification campaign the Police has embarked on, gains ground so as to be more accountable, efficient and professional.
