Fred Ssekitoleko, the NRM party member in Kizito Zone in Luweero Town Council told URN that he lost interest in the exercise when he checked the display center three times and didnt find the registers there.

The NRM party members register display exercise on Friday was marred by delays, missing names and influence peddling. The NRM secretariat set Friday as the date for the nationwide party member register display exercise. It came after a fresh nation party membership registration exercise.

In Luweero hundreds of NRM party loyalists turned up to check on their particulars on the register in vain. Some of the NRM party members couldn't trace their particulars on the register while others were misplaced and transferred to distant polling stations.

The most affected zones in Luweero town council are Lumu, Kalongo, Kizito, Kavule among others. Others are villages in Katikamu Sub County such as Kito, Tweyanze, Lusenke, Kikabya, Butundu and Lukyamu among others.
Sam Sserunjogi, the Katikamu sub county LC 3 chairman says that most of the NRM party supporters turned up before 10am as announced by party leadership in the district to check their particulars but the registers didn't arrive until after 2pm. He says that even after waiting for a very longtime for the delivery of the registers, some of the party members couldn't trace their particulars, which forced them to walk away in protest.

He wonders whether the party secretariat can organize free and fair party primaries if it has failed to give them ample time check their particulars and scrutinize names. Fred Ssekitoleko, the NRM party member in Kizito Zone in Luweero Town Council told URN that he lost interest in the exercise when he checked the display center three times and didn't find the registers there.

Yeku Ssenkula, a display officer in Kizito zone blamed the delayed display exercise on the late delivery of the registers by the party leadership. Ssenkula said some of the voters didn't have clear information on where the exercise was taking place.

// Cue in: "Embeera yasoose ….

Cue out:…bakyajja ssebo"//

Paul Mukungu, an aspirant for the Luweero Town Council LC 3 seat asked the party leadership to extend the display exercise to address the anomalies.

// Cue in: "The exercise….
Cue out….the voters.

David Kamugisha, the Luweero NRM registrar assures the voters that their concerns will be addressed.

// Cue in: "You know….
Cue out:…clean register"//

// Cue in: "Naye ekizibu…..
 Cue out…nomination ziwedde"//
Despite the concerns by the voters, Rose Namayanja, the National Party Treasurer says there is no time for extension.
