Youthful Coach Alex Isabirye has officially resigned his position at top Premier League side SC Victoria University.

The Club Chairman Simo Dubajic confirmed Isabirye's resignation. He said the player had informed them that personal and family reasons had forced him to quit.

The former Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder took over from Sam Ssimbwa in January this year. Isabirye leaves the club top of the FUFA Super League before facing army side Simba this afternoon in Bombo.

Asked to explain further whey Isabirye who was performing well with SC Victoria was resigning, Dubajic refused to explain. He denied knowledge of the specifics of the private issues.

When contacted Isabirye refused to explain why he was leaving the club which will represent Uganda in the 2014 Orange Confederations Cup.

SC Victoria University who qualified for the League last year sacked Ssimbwa and his assistants Steven Bogere and Abdul Kigenyi in January before Isabirye took charge. Ssimbwa is now coach of Rwanda side Police FC, while Bogere is handling SC Villa.

Dubajic said former assistant coaches Morley Byekwaso and Moses Oloya will now take charge of the team, while Sam Lwere has been brought on board as Club administrator and former Serbian based professional and Cranes defender Nestory Kizito will be the coordinator.

Isabirye who some sources however say was forced to resign leaves the club top of the table. He helped the club finish fourth in the league last season and also won the Uganda Cup.
