The Leader of Opposition in Parliament Betty Ochan Aol has asked the leadership of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) political party to woo back Mugisha Muntu to the party.

Ochan was speaking on Wednesday to members of the Inter-Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) at the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) headquarters in Kampala.

On Tuesday, Muntu, the former FDC Party President announced he was quitting the party.

According to Ochan, bringing back Muntu to the party will be one of the indicators of political growth.

However, Ochan says that if dialogue between FDC and Muntu fails, he should be allowed to pursue his political career independently.

She commended some of Muntu's achievements such as representing Uganda to the East African Legislative Assembly-EALA.

The UPC President Jimmy Akena said that it is significant for a person like Muntu to quit FDC since he had served the party for a long time.  He says that despite Muntu's departure, UPC will continue to maintain a cordial relationship with FDC.
