Kabakumba Masiko, the incumbent Bujenje County Member of Parliament in Masindi district has rejected the poll results citing massive irregularities.

Kabakumba contested for the Masindi municipality parliamentary seat as an independent after losing in the NRM party primaries.

She lost to Ernest Kiiza, the Minister for Bunyoro Affairs. According to the poll results issued by Masindi District Registrar, Ibrahim Kazindo, Kizza polled 14,125 votes against Kabakumba's 9,076 votes.

She promised to  petition court to nullify Kiiza's victory and direct Electoral Commission to conduct fresh election for the Masindi municipality parliament seat.

Ibrahim Kizindo, the Masindi District Returning Officer, said the MP was free to go to court since Electoral Commission doesn't control people's opinions and thoughts, adding that as the Commission they played their part.  

By the time of filing this story, Kiiza was celebrating victory with his supporters.
