Kabale Health Centre II's in Deplorable Condition

More than 20 health center IIs in Kabale district are in a very sorry state. The most affected health centers are found in Rwamucucu, Kashambya, Maziba, Kaharo and Butanda sub counties. The affected health centers were built in 2006.
 
 
However, some of them have developed huge cracks on the floor, walls and ceiling. At Kavu health center in Maziba Sub County, both the ceiling and floor have developed huge cracks. A health worker at Kavu health center who preferred anonymity told Uganda Radio Network - URN that patients are slowly deserting the health center for fear of their lives.

Joseph Mukanga, a resident of Nyamiryango parish in Butanda Sub County says Nyamiryango health centre II is on the verge of collapsing. He says in addition to the sorry state of the facility, the health center lacks basic requirements.

Nasser Mukibi, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Kabale concurs with residents on the sorry state of the health centers. He however, says they have embarked on the rehabilitation of Health Center IVs because of the resource constraints.
