Kaka Shoe Factory Gutted in Fire

A fire has gutted Kaka Shoe Factory on 6th Street, Industrial Area in Kampala. Kaslpealah Patel, the owner of the factory, says the fire started on Monday evening shortly after close of business at 7:30 p.m. He said the fire started in the stores and quickly spread to the manufacturing plant, destroying goods and equipment worth more than 600 million shillings. The fire was extinguished by Fire Masters, a private fire fighting company that was contracted by Kaka Shoe Factory. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
