Katumba Decorates Successor, Hands Over

Newly promoted army officers are being decorated at a ceremony at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Bombo, Kampala.
  
Defence Minister Adolf Mwesige is chief guest at the decoration and handover ceremony.
  
Among those decorated include new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General David Muhoozi, who was promoted last week to take over from General Katumba Wamala.
  
General Wamala, who is headed to the Ministry of Works as Minister of State, decorated his successor.
 
Other officers decorated today include new deputy CDF, Lieutenant General Wilson Mbadi, and new Land Forces commander Major General Peter Elwelu.
  
Also on the list are Maj Gen Otema Awany, the newly appointed Reserve Forces commander, Major General Joseph Musanyufu, the new Joint Chief of Staff and Mjor General Proscovia Nalweyiso who becomes the first female two-star General in East Africa.
