KCCA FC Plotting Early Goals to Stifle El-Merreikh

The KCCA FC team entered camp last evening ahead of the return leg to be played at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday. The Ugandan League champions upset El Merreikh 2-0 in the first leg played in Khartoum last weekend.

George Nsimbe, the KCCA FC Coach says his team will need early goals to kill off Sudan giants El Merreikh when they face off on Saturday in the return leg of the 2014 CAF Champions League preliminary round.

Although they had not been favored to win away, the Ugandan League champions upset El Merreikh 2-0 in the first leg played in Khartoum last weekend. Tony Odur and Herman Wasswa netted the goals.

Nsimbe’s team entered camp last evening ahead of the return leg to be played at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday.

He however told URN this morning that they will need early goals to supress the Sudanese team.  The former Cranes Coach said although the Sudan team is very good with several experienced players, his boys must make sure they take their chances.

The KCCA FC team lost 2-1 on aggregate to the same team in the CAF Champions League in 2009 at the same level.

The El Merreikh team that lost to European Champions Bayern Munich last month in an International friendly in Doha, Qatar is expected to arrive this afternoon aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

Incase KCCA FC eject El Merreikh they will face the winner between Zambia’s Nkana Red Devils and Mbabane Swallowsof Swaziland. The Swazi giants humbled Nkana 2-0 in the first leg played in Mbabane last weekend.
