The Kenyans who are preparing for a World Cricket League (WCL) game against Netherlands battled first to score 223/10 in 49.3 overs, while Uganda replied with 150/10 in 26.1 overs.
Nehemiah Odhiambo and Rakep Patel scored 58 and 30 runs respectively for Kenya, while Arthur Kyobe scored 46 runs for Uganda. The two teams will again face-off on Tuesday in the second friendly at the Kyambogo Oval.
Kenya's head Coach Steve Tikolo said heavy rains in Kenya could not give them chance to train well and therefore they decided to come and prepare in Uganda and also have a series of matches.
Tikolo, a former international said they expect the Ugandan teams to give them good practice. Besides Kenya, the other teams taking part in the World Cricket League (WCL) include; Scotland, UAE, Hong Kong, Papau New Guinea, Netherlands, Namibia and Nepal.
The International Cricket Council (ICC)  WCL which runs from 2015-2017 has four of the eight participating teams with One Day International (ODI) status, while the other four teams were promoted from ICC World Cricket League Division 2 which was held in Namibia in January 2015.
