Kibirige Mayanja was yesterday declared president of the Justice Forum, (JEEMA) party, by the delegates' conference that convened last night at Garden hotel in Kawempe. Mayanja was elected unopposed, after the main contender Hussein Kyanjo the party's spokesperson stood down. Hussein Kyanjo had earlier on announced that the race for the party's presidency would be stiff. JEEMA's Governor for Northern Uganda Rev. Santos Okema was elected as the party's chairman. Okema beat Musa Buwembo in a vote that raised a lot of controversy, while Mohammed Kateregga is the vice chairman. JEEMA President Kibirige Mayanja later nominated the party's executive.
