Kizza Besigye: Museveni Now Weaker Opponent

Dr. Kizza Besigye, the former Forum for Democratic Change- FDC party President says President Yoweri Museveni is now a weaker opponent.
 

Besigye, who is in Mbale to drum up support for his election as FDC flag told a news conference this morning that "Museveni is much weaker politically compared to the previous years when he contested against him".
 

He cited the recent fallout between Museveni and his key allies such ex-premier Amama Mbabazi, the former coordinator of Intelligence services David Tinyefunza alias Sejjusa and former Vice President Professor Gilbert Bukenya.

Asked on whether he now trusts the Electoral Commission, which he has previously accused of mismanaging elections, Besigye said it was the duty of every Ugandan to push for Free and fair Elections.

Besigye is currently holding a closed door meeting with FDC party delegates from Bugisu region.
 
He is later expected to address his supporters at a public rally at Mbale Cricket Grounds.
