In short
Iguru warned his daughter to back off kingdom affairs, saying other than being a princess; she holds no mandate on the administration of the kingdom.

Solomon Gafabusa Iguru, the Omukama of Bunyoro Kingdom has clashed with his daughter Princess Daphne Kabatalesa over a letter sacking his Principal Private Secretary Jonan Atuhura.  Kabatalesa is accused of authoring a letter on November 02 sacking Atuhura claiming that he is not qualified for the job, misleading the King and hanging around the palace without permission.

The letter addressed to Atuhura and circulated to the local media triggered drama, as the Omukama Iguru convened a press conference to disown it.  The visibly angry Iguru grilled his daughter in front of journalists asking her to produce an appointment letter as his secretary.

Iguru warned his daughter to back off kingdom affairs, saying other than being a princess; she holds no mandate on the administration of the kingdom. But Kabatalesa did not back off, saying she could not be bulldozed anymore since she's grown up.

The princess, in her mid-20s instead continued to accuse Atuhura of conniving with others to mislead Omukama Iguru and mess up the kingdom. Amidst the drama, Iguru asked the media and the public to ignore the letter saying Atuhura still remains the PPS and that his daughter had no mandate to sack him. Despite his presence, Atuhura did not comment about the Princess's letter.

Omukama Iguru appointed Atuhura early this year following the retirement of his longest serving Principal Private Secretary Yolam Nsamba in January. Unlike other kingdom employees, the PPS has his office inside the Karuziika palace building in Hoima town.

This is the latest controversial letter from Karuziika palace after a series of them last year. The first letter was leaked to the media in August last year with a purportedly forged signature of Omukama announcing a new cabinet.

In a matter of days a new letter was issued by the king announcing the new cabinet, with totally different appointees. As if angry over such controversial letters, Iguru has also warned people against using his name without his authority.
