Charles Kangoora, the sectary Kyenjojo District Service Commission has been arrested for abuse of office and extortion. Kangoora was picked up yesterday from his office on orders of James Byamukama, Kyenjojo District LC V chairman. Vincent Ikwe, the acting District Police Commander Kyenjojo says that ten people have registered complaints at Kyenjojo police station accusing Kangoora of extorting money from them claiming that he will offer them jobs, as teachers. It is alleged that Kangoora received money from his victims but never short listed them. The victims then reported the matter to the District Chairman. Ikwe says Kangoora had turned one of the bars in Kyenjojo town into his office, where he has been extorting money from the candidates. James Byamukama says that there have been massive tendencies of corruption and abuse of office at the district service commission offices. Byamukama says that he ordered for the arrest of Kangoora, in order to allow police carry out investigations without any interruptions. Yesterday, George Ruharuza, the chairman of the district service commission and his staff were also locked out of their offices by the police to carry out investigations relating to Kangoora's arrest.
