Samuel Logwee, a resident of Moroto says most of the land surveys are conducted in the night with a few middlemen.

Sarah Akello, an artisan miner in Kosiroi, Tororo Cement base for Limestone says the land is surveyed at night under the watch of security guards. She notes that a number of the people fear confronting the surveyors and their bosses but only wake up to find mark stones planted.

Akello revealed that night surveys caused Kosiroi residents their land when Tororo Cement declined to pay for surface rights on grounds that they had acquired a land title for the place.
