A Lira based businessman has been tortured by court Bailiffs over a 42 million shilling debt. Bosco Olulung, the director of Acan Adiro beauty shop in Lira town, was grabbed from his shop and taken to police by court bailiffs from the Nakawa magistrate court. The bailiffs were acting on court orders to recover 42 million shillings that Olulung owes to the producers of Beckham Gin and waragi. Olulung was manhandled and dragged to Lira central police station. He sustained several injuries during the scuffle and was admitted in hospital. Speaking from his hospital bed, Bosco said that he was tortured in the presence of the Lira district police commander, Raymond Otim. Gwido, Olulung's brother says that the court bailiffs insisted on transferring Olulung to Kampala but changed their mind after they were paid 20 million shillings and a cheque worth 22 million shillings.
