Low Turn Up as UPDF Recruits LDUs in Lamwo

Lamwo district has registered a low turn up of applicants for the Local Defence Unit-LUDU personnel recruitment exercise. 


The Uganda People's Defence Forces - UPDF conducting the exercise was expecting to recruit up to 150 but only 87 were recruited.

According to Col. Richard Walekula, the recruitment team leader, only 120 people turned up for the exercise. Walekula noted that more than thirty people were disqualified for lack of requisite academic qualifications and scars on their bodies.

Col. Walekula said that other nine recruits were disqualified after they tested positive for Hepatitis B.


According to Col. Walekula, part of the 87 successful recruits includes six females.


The recruitment exercise will continue in neighboring Agago district on Thursday and on Friday in Pader on Friday 19, 2018.
