Luweero police is holding Steven Seruzzi, the Local council one chairperson for Lutuula Village in Butuntumula sub county, Luweero district, for defiling a 12 year old girl.

According to Godfrey Ninsiima, the Luweero District Police Commander, Seruzzi was arrested on Sunday morning by police from his home and is detained at Luweero Central Police Station.

Ninsiima says Seruzzi defiled the girl at his house on Saturday evening.

Samuel Bukenya, a father to the victim, says that the girl came back from the shop where he had sent her walking with difficulty. When he asked her what had happened to her, at first she deceived him that she had a slight accident with her leg.

Dissatisfied with her answer, Bukenya threatened to cane her and that is when she revealed that Seruzzi had defiled her.

Bukenya says that he had received several reports that Seruzzi was defiling her daughter but had not been able to prove it before.

The 12 year old victim is a primary five pupil at Kikunyu Primary School in Buntumula Sub County, Luweero District.

Godfrey Ninsiima says that the suspect will be charged of defilement but investigations are still underway to establish the evidence.
