One of the victims of Saturday's bus accident in Magamaga on the Jinja-Iganga highway has been transferred to Mulago Hospital. Aliyi Kalunguba was rushed to Mulago early on Sunday morning for emergency treatment. He suffered intracranial bleeding and could not be treated in Jinja Hospital. The Magamaga accident occurred with a Teso Coach bus traveling from Kampala to Soroti veered off the road in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with a trailer. The bus rammed into a building on the side of the road, crushing several bodaboda operators and bystanders in the process. Three men were killed on the spot. Sister Justine Mutakubwa, the nursing officer in charge of Ward Nine in Jinja Hospital, says that of the three people admitted in the hospital, two are improving fast and could be discharged later this week. //Cue in: iWe go three patients #i Cue out: i# also improving.i// One of the accident victims, Asam Katuntu, says he is responding well to treatment and is out of danger. He says he is feeling much better now and were it not for fractures on his legs, he would be out of hospital. //Cue in: iI am feeling better #i Cue out: i# cannot sit now.i// The police are looking into the possibility that the accident may have been caused by over speeding by the Teso Coach bus driver.
