Elderly Man In Trouble for Raping 12-Year-Old

An elderly man in Kabarole district is in trouble for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl. Seventy-year-old Francisco Kasoro is locked up at Karambi Sub County Police Post for allegedly raping the minor.

 
Patrick Bahemuka, the Officer in Charge of Karambi Sub County Police Post, says the suspect was caught red-handed raping the minor at his home in Karambi A village. 



He says the suspect was rushed to Karambi Police Post amidst protests by villagers who wanted to lynch him.
 

According to Bahemuka, Kasoro has admitted sleeping with the same girl on two occasions before he was picked up.

The victim's grandmother says what happened to her grandchild is devastating given the fact that she lost her mother last month and the whereabouts of the father are still unknown.

James Aliganyira, a resident of Karambi says Kasoro has just returned to the village from Luzira Maximum Prison where he was locked up for over ten years for unknown crimes.
 
According to Bahemuka, they will forward the suspect to Fort Portal Central Police Station to face charges of aggravated defilement and rape.
