A 35-year-old woman has been found murdered in her home in Nyendo, Masaka district.
Grace Feibe, a resident of Mukudde in Nyendo, was found lying in a pool of bodily waste. She had deep cuts to her neck and head and there were signs that she had been strangled.
Feibe's husband, Francis Kasekende, was arrested in connection to the murder.
Godfrey Mutebi, the couple's shamba boy, says he didn't hear anything unusual last night. He says he was surprised when early this morning, Kasekende ordered him to fetch a taxi to take him to Kitovu Hospital. It was at that point that he saw Feibe's body and alerted the police.
The officer in charge of criminal investigations in Masaka, Patrick Banyindo, says he suspects that the murder took place when the couple fought last night. He says Francis Kasekende also had cuts to his neck, a sign that he too may have been a victim of the violence.
The six rooms of the house in Nyendo were splattered with blood and household property was destroyed.
Neighbors of the couple were shocked by the news. They say Kasekende has been ill for a long time and he isolated himself from his friends. No one had had real contact with him in a long time.
