Police in Masaka are holding two managers of Valley Cave Restaurant on suspicion of torturing an employee.
 Patrick Ssentongo (38), the manager Valley Cave Restaurant and his assistant Emmanuel Kigozi (31) have been arrested for reportedly torturing Jackson Kalanzi (22), a cook at the restaurant accusing him of stealing 68,000 shillings.
It is alleged that Kalanzi failed to account for 68,000 shillings which went missing from restaurant safe at the counter yet he was the only person at the station at the time of the incident.
According to Kalanzi he was forced to remove his shirt, his hands and legs tied with ropes and hang up in the restaurant store. He was also whipped with wires as the managers accused him of stealing 68,000 shillings from the restaurant.
He adds that after tying him up with ropes Ssentongo armed with a pang threatened to cut off his head if he did don’t return the money he had stolen on top of  beating him up.
According to the District Criminal Investigations officer Frank Ntankovu, the arrest followed a tipped off that one of the workers at the restaurant was confined in the store after being severely beaten up.
Ntankovu further says that Police deployed two detectives at the scene who recovered a panga and ropes which were used to tie Kalanzi who was found lying unconscious on the floor with bruises on his hands and legs.
He adds that the suspects will be charged with torture and unlawfully confinement when investigations into the matter are complete.
Recently  Andrew  Kananura   Kagonyera   a.k.a Desh the owner of  Panamera  bar and Lounge  along with  Raymond,  the manager , the  bar’s bouncer  Cyrus Maganda and security guards Samuel  Muzolewa  and Jacob Onyango were arrested for flogging to death a worker Badru  Kateregga after he was found with some money.
Ssentongo and Kalanzi are held at Masaka Police station as police hunt for Sam and Junior who are still at large for allegedly conniving with the suspects to commit the offence.
